“I am pleased to offer my congratulations today to the Michigan State Police on 100 years of service to our communities. The state police are particularly important to my U.P. communities, many of which are separated by many miles. Travelers take comfort in knowing that the state police are patrolling our roads and are ready to assist them. In addition to traffic patrol, the MSP also provides statewide investigative services, forensic science services, criminal justice records management, and state homeland security and emergency management services. I thank them for their professionalism and their willingness to put their lives on the line every day to protect our families, and I wish them well as they continue serving our state and our communities.”
