LANSING — Tonight, the House and Senate convened for a joint legislative session to hear Gov. Rick Snyder give his eighth and final State of the State address. In response, state Rep. Sheldon Neeley (D-Flint) issued the following statement:

“Gov. Rick Snyder tried to spend tonight reminiscing on his legacy in office. But my community will never remember him and his administration for having done anything other than poisoning our city, the impact of which will affect generations of Flint residents for years to come. There is still more work to be done to repair the health and minds of Flint residents. This will require real action and real partnerships to move us beyond this man-made crisis: we now need man-made solutions. To that end, I am ready to work with like-minded leaders to begin providing long-term solutions to help my people find the healing and recovery they deserve.”
