LANSING — Today, Legislative Republicans passed two bills, SB 1171 and SB 1175, gutting the citizen-led ballot initiatives that were passed into law back in September. In response, state Rep. Sheldon Neeley (D-Flint) issued the following statement

“The people of Flint are some of the hardest-working folks I know, and they deserve the opportunity to earn the strong paycheck and supportive benefits that the ballot proposals would provide. As their voice in Lansing, I represent their interests, not those of wealthy special interest groups who would rather cut corners and costs to pad their own pockets. Workers in Flint and all throughout Michigan deserve to know their leaders prioritize their needs over corporate profits.”
