LANSING — Gov. Rick Snyder gave his final State of the State address tonight. In response, state Rep. Terry Sabo (D-Muskegon) issued the following statement:
“Our state will thrive and grow when our communities do well, but Gov. Snyder and the Republican majority’s policies haven’t allowed that to happen over the past seven years. As a former police officer and fire fighter, I’ve seen what’s happened when revenue sharing drops as it has under this administration and our cities struggle to provide safety and other basic services. We need to support our communities so they can provide services that businesses and industries need so they’ll stay here and offer good jobs to our workers and young people. We must support our schools so students are prepared for college and trade schools and can find work to support themselves and their families. We’ll drive our economy forward when we start investing again in education, our communities and our workers.”
