LANSING — Today, the Michigan House of Representatives held their annual Sept. 11 ceremony to commemorate those Michigan first responders lost in the line of duty during the past year, to honor those lost in the 2001 attacks and to recognize first responders serving in Michigan communities today. State Rep. Winnie Brinks (D-Grand Rapids) hosted Lieutenant Ed Braman of the Grand Rapids Fire Department at the ceremony and released the following statement:

“Many of us cannot fathom the dangers that our first responders face every day, and yet they continue to serve our communities with selfless service and unwavering commitment. I was proud to be joined at today’s ceremony by Lieutenant Braman, who works relentlessly with his team to keep our Grand Rapids communities safe. We are forever grateful to him and his fellow first responders for protecting our freedoms every day and that is why we will continue fighting to ensure their paychecks and benefits are secure.”
