“I am pleased that state Attorney General Bill Schuette has opened an investigation into the quality of care at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans. This is the investigation I have been requesting for three years, ever since veterans and their families began telling me about substandard care, abuse and neglect at the home. Our veterans are counting on us to give them the absolute best care we can provide, and I’m glad that our state is taking steps to address problems at the home. I look forward to the results of the attorney general’s investigation, and I will do all I can to improve the care of our veterans.”
