Statement from state Representative Brandon Dillon (D-Grand Rapids) on his resignation from the Michigan House of Representatives:

“After much thought and conversation with my family, I have made the decision to step down as the state representative for the 75^th Michigan House District, effective Monday, Aug. 3. The next few weeks will ensure a smooth transition, as the people of Grand Rapids will continue to be served by my staff even after my departure.

“I look forward to the next chapter in my career and I have no doubt that the next representative for the 75^th District will work for the families of Michigan and represent Grand Rapids well.”
