In response to Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette saying “Our office will continue to prosecute the remaining defendants involved in this shameful violation of the public trust” in regard to the McCotter petition fraud scandal.

“Michigan voters need to know that their elections are clean, fair and honest. When the state attorney general selectively decides which cases of election fraud to investigate, he makes it harder for everyone to trust we have fair elections in this state. That’s why I’m urging state Attorney General Bill Schuette to investigate all attempts at election-rigging in Michigan, including the attempt by House Speaker Jase Bolger (R-Marshall) and Rep. Roy Schmidt (R-Grand Rapids) to fix the race in Michigan’s 76th House district so that Schmidt would have an easy win in November. Voters put elected officials into office trusting that we will do what is best for them.”
