“For all the talk we heard during the governor’s budget presentation about moving Michigan in the right direction, what I found most concerning was the lack of emphasis on restoring the devastating cuts that are already impacting the quality of education that our kids are receiving. The surplus in last year’s School Aid Fund was used to pay for a corporate tax cut and if we truly want Michigan to create jobs and attract businesses, one of our first priorities needs to be educating our students. We need to ensure that all of our schools have the resources they need to prepare our students for 21st century jobs. Throughout the upcoming budget process, I will continue to fight for our schools.”
