“The consistent and drastic funding cuts to our schools are frankly disgusting, and now the House Republicans responsible for this divestment in our kids are doubling down and threatening schools that are legally negotiating their contracts. The ability of our school districts to be able to negotiate their contracts, without fear of interference from Lansing, is absolutely necessary in the face of these continued cuts to school funding in Michigan. Utica Community Schools are within their legal right to negotiate their contracts as they see fit and know better than any legislator in Lansing what is best for their schools, what is best for the taxpayers in their communities and, most importantly, what is best for their parents and students.”
