Statement from state Representative Jeff Irwin (D-Ann Arbor) on U.S. Rep. Elijah Cummings calling on Gov. Rick Snyder to stop impeding the investigation into the Flint water crisis

“I stand with Congressman Cummings on his vocal rebuke of Gov. Snyder and the inconsistencies in the governor’s brief testimony. Furthermore, the Legislature has the full power of the Joint Select Committee on The Flint Water Public Health Emergency to bring the governor, former Flint emergency managers and any state and local department officials before them to answer fully and truthfully on this matter. The governor should come before the committee and clear up any confusion about which emails were deleted.”
