“The Southfield Public Schools Board of Education voted last night to combine Southfield High School and Southfield/Lathrup High School and close Brace Lederle K-8 School and Adler Elementary School effective fall 2016. The board’s decision was based on declining enrollment, which is a problem that is not unique to Southfield. This action ensures that the school district has the adequate resources to continue to give Southfield students the educational opportunities that they deserve.
