“I’m encouraged that Gov. Rick Snyder wants to increase spending on higher education. This is critical to Michigan’s ability to attract businesses in thriving industries which require a state with a skilled and talented workforce. Additionally, I’m encouraged that the governor wants to invest in revenue sharing to local communities.
“However, the governor wants to put an additional $95 million into the state’s rainy day fund while at the same time cutting necessary programs for Michigan’s families. We need to invest in our communities, so that they become vibrant, safe places where people want to work, play and raise a family. Michigan families, seniors and students have given more than their fair share over the past few years. Now it’s time for the state to invest in them, not just big corporations.”
