Today, the Governor has laid out a budget that reflects the priorities of a business man, but I was hoping his budget would reflect the priorities of the people of Michigan.
I am deeply concerned that the Governor’s priority programs do not reflect the interests of the people hurting the most in this state, particularly in the wake of massive tax hikes on seniors and families. I agree with the Governor that we need to solve our road funding and overall infrastructure funding issues, but increasing registration fees on the working people and seniors of our state is not the answer.
We need to make sure that working on economic development is on the top of our agenda including more support for small businesses, funding for our schools at all levels, and protecting our Great Lakes.
