“Throughout this process, my main concern has been the need for an independent, impartial criminal investigation. I do not condone what Rep. Gamrat has done. Now, this report will go to the Michigan Attorney General and Michigan State Police and a criminal investigation will be done. For that reason, I voted yes to expel Rep. Gamrat. I was not sent here to play politics. I was sent here to push for a more accountable and transparent government. The amendment to House Resolution 141 that will require this criminal investigation, and assurances from Gov. Rick Snyder that the investigation will happen, ensures that we will have accountability and transparency.”
