LANSING, Mich., March 2, 2021 — In a salute to the brave men and women who defend our state and country, state Rep. Richard M. Steenland (D-Roseville) introduced his first bill, House Bill 4380, today that would create the Services Support Fund. The fund would allow the state to accept tax-deductible donations in support of military members, veterans and their families.

“Our active duty, reserve, national guard members and veterans, as well as their families, make many sacrifices to serve our state and the nation. This bill will provide a creative avenue for increasing funding to support them within our communities throughout the state by leveraging additional private sector resources. I look forward to working with my colleagues to move this legislation through the process.”

HB 4380 was referred to the Military, Veterans and Homeland Security Committee and is awaiting a hearing.
