LANSING, Mich., Jan. 26, 2022 — Today, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer delivered her fourth State of the State address from Detroit Diesel. Her remarks highlighted proposals that put Michiganders first by growing Michigan’s economy, creating jobs, cutting taxes and lowering costs for families. In response, State Rep. Lori Stone (D-Warren) issued the following statement:

“It’s rewarding to hear Gov. Whitmer reflect on all that we have accomplished in the legislature together with her as the executive. I appreciated her vision for all the work we have yet to do. I came to Lansing to improve educational funding for Michigan’s students and schools. Since I took office 3 years ago, Michigan has increased investing in education each year. I’m proud to work with Governor Whitmer on investing in education for communities and schools across Michigan. This year, let’s continue this tradition.”
