LANSING – State Representative Jim Townsend (D-Royal Oak) invites residents to get information and answers to their questions at his Senior Resource Fair from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 16, in Madison Heights. The free event will take place at the Senior Citizens Center, 29448 John R. Road.

“The Resource Fair gives our seniors an opportunity to get information about services and programs conveniently and quickly, all in one place,” Townsend said. “It’s important that residents know what’s available to help them meet their needs, including chore assistance, finding answers to legal and tax questions, finding the right housing or accessing other services and benefits they have earned. We have a number of great organizations participating in this resource fair, and people will be able to get information that will help them find the services they need.”

This free event will feature representatives from various organizations. They will be available to provide information and answer questions on issues such as in-home help, housing, health care, taxes, and more.

In addition to Rep. Townsend and his staff, representatives from the following will be at the Senior Resource Fair:

  • Area Agency on Aging 1-B;

  • Senior Helpers;

  • Accounting Aid Society;

  • Community Housing Network

  • Senior and Caregiver Resource Network; and

  • American House.
