LANSING, Mich., May 4, 2023 — The House of Representatives passed House Bill 4238 yesterday. This bill contains investments in Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund capital outlay projects. There are 15 land acquisition projects funded at $15 million and 30 land development projects totaling $8.3 million, including $300,000 for an extension of the Northern Tier Trail. After the vote, state Rep. Penelope Tsernoglou (D-East Lansing) issued the following statement:
“The Northern Tier Trail is a gem of the Capital Area. It connects 10 community parks and recreation facilities and provides a showcase for our community’s beautiful plants and wildlife. So many community members use this trail to get in a workout, catch up with friends or enjoy a breath of fresh air. I was very pleased to vote yes on this bill to support a resource that so many of my community members appreciate and so many similar resources throughout our state.”
