LANSING, Mich., Jan. 13, 2023 —  Speaker Joe Tate (D-Detroit) announced yesterday the chairs and members for all committees and subcommittees that will be meeting in the 2023-24 legislative session. Tate appointed state Rep. Tyrone Carter (D-Detroit) chair of the Regulatory Reform Committee. As chair of this committee, Carter will oversee which bills are brought up in committee and make it to the House Floor. In addition to being the chair, Carter will be serving as a member of the Criminal Justice, Judiciary, and Military, Veterans, and Homeland Security committees.

“I look forward to serving as chair of the Regulatory Reform Committee, and working in the new Democratic majority,” Carter said. “As chair of this committee, I will be able to ensure regulatory issues are handled in a way that is helpful to all Michiganders. It is also my privilege to serve on the Criminal Justice and Judiciary committees, where I can support the criminal justice process and useful judicial reforms to improve Michigan’s judicial system.”
