Dear Neighbor,
Keeping you informed on the latest happenings at the Capitol is a top priority for me. I hope you can join me for my first virtual coffee hour of the year next Monday, Feb. 8 from 6 – 7 p.m. I’ll give a brief legislative update and answer any questions, comments or concerns you’d like to share with me.
Joining me at this month’s coffee hour is the Genesee Health Department Director Dr. Pamela Hackert. She’ll be answering questions about COVID-19 and how you can get vaccinated in Genesee County.
If you would like to ask questions, please register for this event or post on the Facebook event page. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar. This event will repeat the second Monday of the month from February to December. You’ll only have to register once and can sign up for all of my future coffee hours at the same time. These events will also be streamed live on Facebook.
Accessibility for all is extremely important. I am pleased to share that there will be an ASL interpreter at each of my coffee hours.
I look forward to meeting virtually with you next week. If you cannot join us, I would still like to share some additional resources regarding COVID-19 vaccines in Genesee County.
While Genesee county is experiencing a shortage, I still encourage you to pre-register for an appointment with the Genesee County Health Department. The website for pre-registering for a vaccine is https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/GCHDCOVIDAPPTRQST
Meijer pharmacies statewide are also helping administer vaccinations. To find out more and register, visit: https://clinic.meijer.com
For our healthcare providers, first responders and other medical staff, check in first with your employer to see where the best place for you to seek a vaccination may be.
Senior citizens and those without computer access can call their local senior citizen centers or the Valley Area Agency on Aging at 810-600-0617 to register by phone.
