LANSING, Mich., Dec. 14, 2020 – State Representative Rebekah Warren (D-Ann Arbor) has awarded Ashley Desimoine the 2020 Rebekah Warren Envision Michigan Scholarship.

After her election to state office in 2006, Rep. Warren established her scholarship program to promote progressive policies, educational opportunities and active citizenship in our state. Over her 14 years of service in the Michigan Legislature, she has awarded a total of more than $25,000 to constituents as they graduated from high school and moved on to university, college, technical or trade school.

“The Rebekah Warren Envision Michigan Scholarship is designed to support young people who want to help lead our state toward a stronger and more vibrant future, said Warren. “As a dedicated leader and accomplished student, Ms. Desimoine exemplifies what my scholarship stands for, and I am proud to help support her as she pursues her goals by furthering her education.”

Desimoine graduated in the top 5% of her class earlier this year and is now studying kinesiology at Texas A&M University.  While a student at Saline High School, she was named to the Gold Honor Roll each year, was a member of the varsity cross-county team, and was recognized with a number of academic awards including departmental awards from both the English and Spanish departments of her school, the Seal of Biliteracy from the State of Michigan, and the Senior Leadership and Spirit of Cross County awards from the cross country team.
