ANN ARBOR — State Rep. Rebekah Warren (D-Ann Arbor) kicked off her annual Envision Michigan Scholarship today to support young people who want to build a stronger and more vibrant future for Michigan. Now in its thirteenth year, the Rebekah Warren Envision Michigan Scholarship promotes progressive policies, educational opportunities and active citizenship. Rep. Warren will be awarding a $1,000 scholarship to at least two graduating high school seniors who currently reside in the 55th State House District and plan to attend a university, college, technical or trade school.

“As the cost of higher education continues to mount, too many students are being left with staggering amounts of student loan debt that can take a lifetime to escape,” said Rep. Warren. “I established the Rebekah Warren Envision Michigan Scholarship to help make it more affordable for students in my district to pursue their goals, even as I continue to work with my colleagues in the Capitol for comprehensive solutions that ensure that no Michigander is held back by their finances from forging a brighter future for themselves, their family, and their community.”

Anyone who knows a qualifying student is encouraged to nominate him or her by submitting the nomination form posted on Rep. Warren’s website at Warren.housedems.com by Friday, March 22nd. In lieu of nomination, students living in the 55th District can also submit independent applications by Friday, April 19th.
