LANSING — Tonight, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer gave her first State of the State address, outlining her vision for the state and calling for bipartisan collaboration to address the issues that matter most to Michigan’s working families. In response, state Rep. Rebekah Warren (D-Ann Arbor) issued the following statement:

In the first few weeks of her administration, Gov. Whitmer has shown us that she is a leader who puts the needs of Michiganders first. Tonight, she outlined her plans for sensible, forward-thinking policies that will allow for the repair and maintenance of our infrastructure, provide students and teachers with the resources they need to succeed, and ensure that we are protecting our legacy as the Great Lakes State.  I could not be more excited to partner with her to ensure that Michigan remains a remarkable place to live, work, and raise a family.”
