LANSING, Mich., March 24, 2022 — The Michigan House of Representatives passed Senate Bill 565 today, putting billions of dollars to work in communities across the state. State Rep. Regina Weiss (D-Oak Park) voted in support of the bill, highlighting the $2.2 billion in funding for water infrastructure. Weiss issued the following statement:

“I am proud to have worked with colleagues on both sides of the aisle on a budget that takes us one step closer to rebuilding our aging infrastructure. This investment sets us on a path to create long-term solutions to prevent flooding and water contamination while replacing lead pipes, revitalizing our communities, and growing our economy. I look forward to the benefits it will bring to families in the 27th district and across Michigan.”
