LANSING — Resolutions introduced by state Reps. Robert Wittenberg (D-Oak Park), Terry J. Sabo (D-Muskegon) and Darrin Camilleri (D-Brownstown Township) call on Congress to continue full funding of the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative and the National Sea Grant Program. President Donald Trump has recommended cutting all funding for the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative. The resolutions are being introduced on World Water Day.

LANSING — State Representatives Abdullah Hammoud (D-Dearborn) and Robert Wittenberg (D-Oak Park) introduced House Bills 4194 and 4193, respectively, which would amend the Consumer Protection Act. Together, the bills would eliminate the expiration date on gift cards and would also classify certain prepaid discount cards as gift cards. Prepaid discount cards are items used to purchase goods, services or classes at a price or percentage below the normal price. This pro-consumer legislation follows in the footsteps...

LANSING — Oakland County-based members of the Michigan House Democratic Caucus were ceremonially sworn in to serve in the Michigan House of Representatives for the 99th Legislature in 2017-18.
