LANSING, Mich., March 1, 2023 — State Rep. Angela Witwer (Delta Township) announced today the winners of her Small Business of the Month and Teacher of the Month competitions.
Ms. Alice Mills, a kindergarten teacher at Grand Ledge Public Schools, Delta Center Elementary, is February’s teacher of the month!
“Ms. Mills is energetic, fun and caring,” her nominator writes. “I’ve been fortunate enough to have two students have Ms. Mills for Kindergarten, and she is a beloved person for our family. You can always count on her to involve Abu, the Delta Center building dog. When my kids came home from school after working hard on something, they’d tell me they were ‘rockin it!’ like Ms. Mills always says. At school events, she goes out of her way to check in with former students and families. You can always find her going above and beyond at school events like math night and the glow party. She’s fantastic!”

Tim’s Pizza, a restaurant in Olivet owned and operated by Scott Ramage, is February’s small business of the month!
“Scott Ramage has owned and operated Tim’s Pizza since the mid 1980s,” the nominator writes. “He started working there in the ’80s as a student at Olivet College, and, when he graduated, became the owner. Since then, he has been serving the Olivet community through good times and bad, employing local youth, supporting local causes, and delivering and serving up a quality product that people travel out of their way to Olivet for — tasty pizza. He is looking at leaving the business and would love nothing more than for another alum or local to take it over. It is currently the only restaurant serving the community. Scott has faithfully been there for Olivet and Eaton County. It is rare not to find him in the kitchen. Time to show him some local love.”
