LANSING, Mich., March 7, 2025 — State Rep. Angela Witwer (Delta Twp.) joined teachers and staff at Waverly High School for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of the Warriors’ new auditorium. Witwer helped secure $3 million for the project, which provides a much-needed space for student engagement and performance.

“It was an honor to join Waverly High School’s dedicated teachers and staff to celebrate the opening of a space that will serve as a destination for community, creativity and passion for hundreds of students,” Witwer said. “Providing an environment for the school to come together in their joint pursuit of education and growth is highly important for this community’s young minds. I look forward to seeing the many events that this space will allow students and staff to bring together.”

The auditorium is just one of many major projects funded that will improve both student learning and safety in Waverly Community Schools. As Chair of the House Appropriations Committee last term, Witwer played a significant role in funding many projects, which include new classrooms and more secure entrances and exits at Waverly schools.

“As a legislator with much experience setting state funding priorities, I know that investments in school resources and safety can mean all the difference for kids’ quality of education, and for parents’ peace of mind,” Witwer continued. “I will continue to bring the needs of Eaton County to the Legislature to ensure our school facilities foster safe and productive spaces for every child to learn in.”
