LANSING, Mich., March 3, 2023 — The Michigan House of Representatives passed a bipartisan budget supplemental, House Bill 4016, earlier this week. The supplemental makes historic investments in hospitals and health-care workers, supports home energy solutions, funds affordable housing, and attracts investments in manufacturing, including a Ford electric vehicle manufacturing plant in Marshall, which is projected to create 2,500 jobs. State Rep. Angela Witwer(Delta Township) issued the following statement on the supplemental:
“This budget supplemental takes on so many of the challenges our state faces — from blackouts caused by the recent ice storm, to threats to our environment, to long wait times to see health-care providers. By reaching across the aisle, we were able to develop a bill that helps solve these problems while ensuring we continue to attract significant manufacturing investments, and the thousands of jobs they create, to our state. I’m pleased to see members of both parties set aside their differences to make Michigan a leader in 21st century manufacturing and address the issues our voters care about the most.”
