LANSING, Mich., March 24, 2022 — The Michigan House of Representatives passed Senate Bill 565 today, putting billions of dollars to work in communities across the state. State Rep. Angela Witwer (Delta Township) voted in support of the bill, highlighting the nearly $250 million investment in expanding broadband access and $100 million for community development. Witwer issued the following statement:

“This is a great example of what can happen when our two parties work together to get something done. I support this bipartisan addition to the budget. Increasing funding for community development will help ensure that our rural economies thrive. Increasing funding for broadband internet will help ensure all Michiganders can get online, whether they live in the city or the country. These investments are the right set of priorities.”
