LANSING, Mich., March 9, 2022 — The Michigan House of Representatives voted today to pass House Bill 5570, a bill that would cut the state’s gas and diesel taxes until Oct. 1. As Russia’s invasion of Ukraine drives gas prices over $4 a gallon, this move is expected to save Michigan drivers $750 million. State Rep. Angela Witwer (Delta Township) issued the following statement after voting in support of the bill:

“The people of my district have struggled to make ends meet with the impact that the pandemic and inflation have had on our economy. This is the right move at the right time to give families and seniors some relief. I’m proud to support this bill and the savings it will bring at the pump.”
