LANSING, Mich., July 13, 2021 — State Rep. Angela Witwer (Delta Township) issued the following statement after Gov. Gretchen Whitmer signed a budget for preK-12 schools that makes historic investments and closes the funding gap between districts:
“Closing the foundation allowance gap is key in making sure every student has access to the same resources and support. That’s exactly what this fundamental school aid budget will do. I am proud that my colleagues on both sides of the aisle and I were able to get this piece of legislation to the governor to invest in our students and provide them with a better opportunity to succeed.”
