DETROIT, Mich., Dec. 23, 2024 — The Michigan Senate concluded the 102nd Legislature last week, working tirelessly through an over 27-hour long session to address critical legislative priorities. Reflecting on their efforts, state Rep. Stephanie A. Young (D-Detroit) issued the following statement:
“I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Michigan Senate for their hard work and collaboration in advancing an array of important legislation, including four critical bills I sponsored — House Bills 5166, 5232, 5435 and 4095 — that are now headed to the governor’s desk. These bills represent meaningful progress for the people of Michigan, addressing key issues such as health, education and public safety.
“The Senate’s example of service was not only a great end to the 102nd Legislature, but it was also an excellent model of how my colleagues and I must start the 103rd Legislature — united in service for all Michiganders.”
