LANSING, Mich., Jan. 13, 2021 — State Rep. Christine Morse (D-Texas Twp) was sworn in today as representative for the 2021-2022 legislative session. The swearing-in ceremony marked the formal opening of Michigan’s 101st Legislature.

 

“It’s an honor to serve the community which I call home and I will always strive to be a leader who listens,” said Morse. “I am here to represent the values of my neighbors, and what I’ve heard is a strong desire for fully funding our public schools, ensuring access to health care and protecting our environment.”

 

Rep. Morse is serving her first term representing the 61st House District, which includes the City of Portage as well as the Townships of Oshtemo, Prairie Ronde, Schoolcraft and Texas. Morse is a former Kalamazoo County Commissioner, former attorney, cancer survivor and mother of three.
