The K-12 budget approved by the Michigan Republican-controlled House June 11 is likely to see extensive changes before a school spending plan becomes law.Earlier this week, House Dems came together to introduce an Education Vision that would fund what Michigan's kids really need. Late last night, after hours of House Republicans struggling to get on the same page with each other, they passed their budget. It's terrible.

House Republicans are acting like the bullies we warn our kids about by stealing their lunch money. It’s not cool when fellow kids do it, and it’s even worse when elected adults try to institutionalize it. Michigan kids deserve better.
We’re less than 3 weeks from the July 1st budget deadline, and Michigan is relying on a strong, on-time budget. Our Education Vision increases per-pupil funding + funds things families rely on: school meals, transportation to school, special ed & more. Every kid deserves to thrive.
